maintaining an authoritarian control. Foreign Direct Investment and export development opened the economy. Sayani Das in her research paper examines how China influences the global economy. It sheds
light on the Chinese economic policies implemented in the year of 1979, trade statistics of different sectors and the dominance that China has achieved through its economic growth. This paper also examines the ambitious ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ initiated by the current Chinese president, Xi Jinping and its influence on the global economic-political atmosphere. The prolonged but influential trade war between
China and the USA has also been examined.
