The Role of Diplomacy in Tackling Drug Trafficking in South Asia: by Amritam Basu

Amritam Basu In his paper The Role of Diplomacy in Tackling Drug Trafficking in South Asia” focusses on an analysis of this  transnational organized crime- their scale, trends and underlying mechanisms (i.e., who, how, what, where, when) impacting Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka. He thereby tries to identify key knowledge, data and resource gaps that preclude the detection and monitoring of various illegal markets impacting the South Asia region; and finally formulates recommendations to enhance the accuracy, reliability and quantity of data collected to augment the capacity of South Asian countries to detect, monitor and prevent transnational organized crimes.
